Allowed To Be Broken

Interesting distinction
How we are allowed to be broken
From divorce, death, loss of all kinds
But not allowed to stay broken

Or have brokenness alter beliefs

Or have it forever change us

We are allowed to be broken

As long we recover well and quickly
And let everyone know God had a plan
So the suffering was bearable

Allowed to be broken

If the brokenness
Is contained
And not too disturbing to witness

But that's not really

Being allowed
To be broken

Being allowed to be broken

Means honoring that
My brokenness has changed me and
My brokenness might change you

Being allowed to be broken

Means recognizing that
I have a difficult road to walk
Whether you come with me or not
And I might not be back

Being allowed to be broken

Means listening when I say
This is what I see here
Whether you see it or not

It just strikes me

That I always thought
Brokenness was allowed
Until I broke and learned
Otherwise
