Sifting through
Church fueled presumptions
About what a Christian believes and
How someone who loves God behaves

Setting aside what didn’t make sense

Sorting through what I didn’t agree with

But I am

No longer okay
With the presumptions

I don’t find them

Siftable or sortable

I find them

Dangerous

In the same way

Sending a fireman
Into a fire
With faulty equipment
Is dangerous

Equipping people

With equipment
That doesn’t hold up
In real life

Breeding confidence

In defective equipment

Leaving people

Defenseless
When things
Are worst

Seems just so dangerous

Possibly more dangerous
Than having no
Equipment
At all
