So much effort

Trying to
Make it
Apply
To me

When so much

Right now
Does not
Apply

Patient in affliction

Thanking God for the
Life he has given
Considering horror joy

It’s not my story

And that is why

The Bible
Which I used to hold dear
Because it spoke to me
No longer speaks to me

It mocks me

Seems more and more foreign

Less and less true

The book of truth
Reading more to me now
Like fiction
