Relief

I wanted relief
But what I got was love

Then I waited for love

To provide relief
And it did a little
But mostly it didn’t

Because love is love

And relief is relief

So what feels like

The absence of love
Might just be
The absence of relief

Love stands beside the pain

A welcomed and peaceful distraction
But it can’t replace relief

Plenty of well loved people

Suffer deeply
Live in pain 
Are not relieved
