And This Is How It Ends

And this is how it ends

He steps up, manages this disease and lives a splendid life

And I live it with him or

He is unable to manage this disease and ends his life

And I survive, move forward, cherishing the happy years we had or

He cannot - will not - manage this disease and lives a long sad life

And I leave, and go on to live a long happy life

These are the only options

This does not end with me living a long sad life

That is not an option
