The good, a blessing

The bad, a lesson

Some feel

None of it

Is from God

Both good

And bad

Simply built

Into the fabric

Of life

Some feel

Good is a sign

Of God’s closeness

And approval

Bad, a sign

Of God’s distance

And disapproval

I feel this

God

Is not the cause

Of any of it

None of it

A sign

Of blessing

Or lesson

But God

Is always

In it

Witnessing it unfold

At times, walking alongside

At times, nowhere to be found

  

Always in it

Always with compassion

But definitely not
